Pro News Flash: Silver Prices Collapse as Investors Flee

Rate this post

🥈 Silver has fallen to its lowest levels since November 2025, as weak investment demand outweighs easing pressure from Treasury yields and the US dollar. The gold-to-silver ratio has climbed above 75, highlighting silver’s growing weakness compared with gold.

📉 Industrial demand is also under pressure. Solar panel manufacturers are showing less interest in silver, while jewellery demand could fall by 17% this year. The Silver Institute expects industrial use to decline by 3% in 2026.

💰 Investor sentiment continues to deteriorate, with silver ETFs recording outflows of 64 million ounces from January to September. Speculators have also reduced their positions, pushing asset managers’ net long positions to a 32-month low.

📊 Bloomberg Intelligence warns that silver could repeat the pattern of 1979-1980, when prices reached $50 per ounce before taking decades to recover. Can silver regain momentum, or is further downside ahead?
